Danny TidwellI'd like to start by saying that I could probably do a whole write-up on Mr. Tidwell's thighs, so I will try to be brief. First exposure to him was during So You Think You Can Dance 3, and I drank the Kool-Aid the powers-that-be were pushing about him being arrogant and all that, until around Top 14 when Adam Shankman destroyed his soul after the Apologize contemporary. Then, he came back the next night with the most beautiful 30 second solo I have ever seen, and I became a fan.
I will say without hesitation that he is the most beautiful man I have ever seen with the most impeccable technique. This is not even getting into his incredibly compelling backstory - he has overcome tons just to be able to dance and excell at it. At the 2007 tour, I was able to meet him and he was nothing but sweetness. He is currently in the Broadway show Memphis which is opening soon. I hope to see a lot more from him in the future.
AddictionI have really no words to explain addiction any better than this amazing dance by Kayla Radomski and Kupono Aweau. If anyone doesn't understand it, watch this:
Adam LambertI first saw Adam during the San Francisco auditions during AI8, and I was instantly a fan. Even moreso when I found out that he had understudied as Fiyero in one of my favorite musicals, Wicked. His vocals were unreal and his stage presence was unparalleled. I appreciate his candor, and his emotional connection to what he sings is unlike anything I've witnessed. Above all, I love his outlook on life and that he is who he is without shame.
Anti-Gay ChristiansThis just makes me angry. Using your religion to hide behind as an excuse to hate is what it is. And Christians are called to love not judge.
Nakotah LaRance in Into The WestI first watched Into The West during the summer of 2005. It was a series that changed my outlook on settlement and Native Americans. During the second-to-last episode, I was captivated by a young Lakota boy named Voices That Carry - played by Nakotah LaRance. He was an intense young man, strongly bonded to his heritage and forced to part with it when he was enrolled in an industrial school intent on Americanizing Lakota children. When the children were made to have their hair cut, Voices That Carry runs away and tries to fight against it. He prays for compassion, waits, and then cuts his own braids off with a knife. He made me feel that loss, as in Lakota tradition, hair is only cut when in mourning. It was perhaps the most moving scene in the entire 9-hour series. I would recommend everyone watching it.
Nakotah is also a world champion hoop dancer. This is definitely worth a watch. I'd never seen anything like it:
